    A Deluxe Ploughman’s Sandwich Plate


    British pubs are famous for serving delicious luncheon plates called the Ploughmans Lunch.a wedge of cheese, a bit of salad, some Branston* pickles or chutney and crusty bread & butter. Leave it to the Yanks to fortify this cold plate with slices of Nations Best® Brisket and a barrel of beer!

    *Branston pickles are available from distributors carrying fine international condiments, but any chutney makes a fine substitute.


    • 4 tender Boston lettuce leaves
    • 1 ripe plum tomato, diced
    • 1/2 diced cucumber
    • 2 Tbsp vinaigretteor a creamy salad dressing
    • 2 slices Nations Best® First Cut Corned Beef Brisket
    • 4 oz Cheddar or Stilton cheese
    • 1/4 Branston pickles (see Note) or your favorite chutney
    • Sliced crusty bread and unsalted butter, for serving


    1. Place the lettuce on one side of a dinner plate. Top with the tomatoes, cucumber and drizzle with dressing.
    2. Arrange the brisket, cheese and Branston pickles on the other half.
    3. Serve with bread and butter and plenty of beer.
